Encourage Students to Apply for the 2017 Youth Tour

Each year, GRM Networks® sponsors two high school juniors on the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. Over the past 3 weeks, our blog has been filled with information about this trip. You’ve read an overview of the trip, looked through the eyes of our chaperone, and experienced the trip from the viewpoint of one of this year’s sponsored students.

Each year, the Youth Tour brings over 100 high school juniors from across rural America together for an educational and exciting experience in Washington, D.C. Students have a first-hand look at the communications industry and learn about legislative and governmental processes. They visit famous historical sites including the World War II Memorial, the Smithsonian Institution, Mount Vernon, the U.S. Capitol and Arlington National Cemetery.

All high school juniors who live in the GRM Networks® service area, and whose parents/guardians are members of GRM Networks® are eligible to apply. Students must be under 18 years of age at the time of the Youth Tour. Relatives of GRM Networks® employees are not eligible.

Applications for the 2017 Youth Tour will be available from high school counselors in GRM Networks®’ serving area, at the GRM Networks® business offices or online at www.grm.net/youthtour in early 2017.

After applications are received, eligible candidates will be interviewed by a group of GRM Networks® representatives, and two students will be selected to attend the Youth Tour in 2017.

For more information on the Youth Tour, visit www.grm.net/youthtour. We look forward to seeing all the great applications for next year!
