In this section, you’ll find the answers to some of the most common questions about GRM Internet service. To see the answer to any question, simply click on it.
GRM Broadband is high-speed Internet service that provides you with access to the Internet at blazing speeds. GRM Broadband does not require a second phone line. Using various technologies through out our network, GRM Broadband lets you talk on the phone and surf the Internet at the same time on the same phone line.
GRM Broadband is typically up to 10-25 times as fast as dial-up. Your actual speed may vary depending on your location from the Central Office and other factors.
GRM Broadband’s speed is only part of the story. GRM Broadband operates in conjunction with your regular phone service, so now your phone line won’t be busy when you are surfing the Internet at the same time. There is no need to install a second phone line for your Internet connection. And GRM Broadband is always on. Open up your web browser, and you’re on the web. No more modems dialing out and making those fingernail-on-chalkboard sounds trying to connect.
The high-speed capabilities of GRM Broadband open up a whole new world of opportunity on the Internet. Do the things you’re already doing in record time, but also discover new exciting applications. Watch video with amazing quality. Listen to a radio station from across the globe while surfing another web site. Send and receive picturs of the family.
The cost is $42.95 per month. Additional charges apply if more than four computers are installed on the connection.
If you don’t already have an Ethernet NIC (Network Interface Card) on your computer, you’ll need to install one. Installing the GRM Broadband equipment is simple. We do it for you! It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
GRM Broadband includes:
- Unlimited Internet access
- Five free e-mail accounts, although additional accounts are available
- 10Mb storage space for web hosting
- Free technical support, available 24/7
Absolutely. That’s one of the great extras that GRM Broadband offers. GRM Broadband uses your phone wires to connect to the Internet, but does it in a way that doesn’t interfere with your voice service. So you can talk or fax while remaining connected to the Internet. Even better, your phone isn’t busy when you’re surfing the Web, so you won’t miss those important calls.
Yes. GRM Broadband doesn’t interfere with custom calling features like call waiting and voice mail.
You don’t have to do anything to connect. Once your GRM Broadband service is installed, it’s always on, waiting to spring into action whenever you want to use the Internet.
GRM Broadband will not affect your telephone service. In fact, Grand River Mutual provides in-line filters, if needed, that eliminate the possibility of background noise that you might find in other high-speed Internet services.
