FRS/GRM Youth Tour

The Foundation for Rural Service sponsors an annual Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. each year. GRM Networks is proud to offer this once in a lifetime opportunity to high school juniors who are age 16 or 17 at the time of the tour and whose parents or legal guardians are members of the cooperative.

The FRS Youth Tour is an all-expense paid trip that brings together students representing rural telecommunication providers from across the United States to learn more about broadband applications in rural communities. Attendees tour famous historical sites and monuments and meet with representatives from the Federal Communications Commission as well as staff and members of Congress from the attendee’s congressional district. Students also attend sessions focused on developing leadership skills.

The 2021 FRS Youth Tour will be held June 5-9, 2021. Applicants will be interviewed by a panel of board members at the GRM Networks office in Princeton, MO in March.

Immediate family members of GRM Networks board members or employees are not eligible to apply for the FRS Youth Tour. Immediate family members are: parents, siblings, children, spouse, grandchildren or the same immediate family members of the spouse
