FOUNDATION FOR RURAL SERVICE YOUTH TOUR TO WASHINGTON D.C.
The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) sponsors an annual Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. each year. GRM Networks is proud to offer this once in a lifetime opportunity to high school juniors who are age 16 or 17 at the time of the tour and whose parents or legal guardians are members of the cooperative.
The FRS Youth Tour is an all-expense paid trip that brings together students representing rural telecommunication providers from across the United States to learn more about broadband applications in rural communities. Attendees tour famous historical sites and monuments and meet with representatives from the Federal Communications Commission as well as staff and members of Congress from the attendees’ congressional district. Students also attend sessions focused on developing leadership skills.
Immediate family members of GRM Networks board members or employees are not eligible to apply for the FRS Youth Tour. Immediate family members are: parents, siblings, children, spouse, grandchildren or the same immediate family members of the spouse.
The 2023 Youth Tour will be held May 31 – June 4, 2023. We are no longer accepting applications for the 2023 FRS Youth Tour. Applications were due February 24. For more information about the Youth Tour, see this informational flyer or contact Amy Davison by phone at 660-748-2110 or by email at adavison@corp.grm.net.
